From an institute built to produce antivenoms to the main tourist attraction in Perlis. The Perlis Snake & Reptile Farm has grown into a recreational park that houses various species of snakes, reptiles and other animals from all over Malaysia and abroad.

In 1978, the PERLIS SNAKE & REPTILE FARM was established as an Institute for Medical Research (IMR), operating under Ministry of Health, Malaysia. The purpose of the establishment was to produce the best antivenoms to treat snakebites. This institute was later officiated by HRHRaja Perlis Tuanku Syed Putra Ibni Almarhum Syed Hassan Jamalullail on 3rd March 1981.

Research Centre.

After 17 years of its opening, the Perlis State Economis Development Corporation (PKENPs) took over in 1995 to commercialize the institute as one of the main tourist hotspot in Perlis. The IMR was then changed to the now renowned TAMAN ULAR & REPTILIA PERLIS (Perlis Snake & Reptile Farm). Since its reopening, the farm has acted as a must-visit tourist attraction, a learning center for students and educators, and also shelter to various species of snakes, reptiles and other animals.

A Must-Visit Spot.

Perlis Snake & Reptile Farm was built on 17-acre land and is known to be the biggest snake park in Malaysia. The farm was also acknowledge as such by the Malaysia Book of Records in 2004 and has been holding that title ever since. Since its establishment, the farm has succeeded in gathering more than 200 species of venemous and non-venemous snakes from malaysia and other parts of the world ranging from Pythons, Cobras, Ratsnakes, Vipers and many other species.

The farm also exhibits other reptiles such as Saltwater Crocodiles, Water Monitor Lizards, Iguanas and many more. There are also other animals that inhabit here such as Deer, Asian Palm Civets, Ostriches, Peacocks, Wild Turkey, Malayan Porcupine, Muscovy Ducks and many more thrilling animals.
